GENDER

These words always escape my mom's mouth whenever we plan to go out anywhere always giving me sense of deja vu..

"..Please thoda ladkiyon ke tarah raho.. kuch toh pehno haathon mein.. gale mein.. thoda toh ladkiyon ke tarah raho.."

Gender.. LADKI [GIRL].. why should a girl act like a girl? a girl is also after all a human being.. isnt she? btw, what does acting like a girl mean anyway?? puttin on a girlie chain?? or a bindi?? or a girlish bracelet?? or an ankelet?? is this what girls are supposed to do??

And what about boys?? even they have a set of rules to be catagorised as boys...

A GIRL SHOULD ACT LIKE A GIRL...

A BOY SHOULD ACT LIKE A BOY...

Fine.. if we are dividing HUMANS into 2 sets on the basis of gender.. then why is the upper classification required?? i.e. why does this >> "HUMAN BEING" catagorisation still exist in this world?? why are girls also humans?? and why are boys also humans??

Fine.. divided.. now what? now this creates problems.. this division brings with itself a new defination for "girls" and "boys" which always [yes always] lands "girls" into problematic situations... WHYY?? Simply to satiate the predefined definations of "girls" and "boys".. i.e "females" and "males"... [Evidence?? Who doesnt know how this world is like.. yes, it is beautiful.. very beautiful in fact.. but not without flaws..]

IIFA awards had one of the awards was related to "lifetime achievement" award.. the following sentance spoken by O. P. Datta [reciever of this prestigious award] is really eye-catchy >>

"...I entered film industry when she was in her adolescence.. i refer to 'Indian Cinema' as 'She' because.. She is not only BEAUTIFUL but also DESIRABLE.."

Beautiful sentance! So, cinema is being refered to as being a female cuz she beautiful and desirable.. Wow.. nice..

But wait.. is this how women are viewed? 'Beautiful' and 'Desirable'?? Why cant men be beautiful and desirable? These two words always give a feeling of females being viewed as objects.. why? because.. a chocolate is desirable.. an icecream is desirable.. and?? women are also desirable! BAADDDDD..

INJUSTICE.. WOMEN ARE ALSO HUMANS... JUST LIKE EVERY OTHER HUMAN.. PLZ AVOID DIFFERENTIATING.. PLEASE...
